* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of south central Virginia, including the
following county and independent city, City of Martinsville and
Henry.
* WHEN...Until midnight EDT tonight.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 859 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain
have fallen.
- This includes the following streams and drainages...
Grassy Fork, Beaver Creek, Hairston Branch, Koger Creek,
Muddy Creek, Bull Run, Jordan Creek, Blackberry Creek, Horse
Pasture Creek, Mill Creek, Bassett Branch and Leatherwood
Creek.
Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.
