For the following areas... Neuse and Bay Rivers... Pamlico Sound... S of Ocracoke Inlet NC to Cape Lookout NC out to 20 NM... At 341 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts were located along a line extending from 6 nm north of Cape Hatteras to 6 nm northwest of The Center Of The Pamlico Sound, moving southeast at 15 knots. HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. Locations impacted include... The Mouth Of The Pamlico River, Hatteras Village, Pamlico Sound, The Center Of The Pamlico Sound, and Swanquarter.
