At 618 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Straits, or near Harkers Island, moving southeast at 15 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Morehead City, Harkers Island, North River, Marshallberg, Davis, Straits, Smyrna, Otway, Williston, Bettie, Michael J Smith Airport, Oceana Pier, Cape Lookout Lighthouse, Rachel Carson Estuarine Reserve, Fort Macon State Park, and Gloucester.
