...The National Weather Service in La Crosse has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Minnesota...Iowa... Cedar River at Austin affecting Mower County. Cedar River at Charles City affecting Floyd County. Additional river and weather information is available at www.weather.gov/lacrosse. The next statement will be issued Thursday morning by 1145 AM CDT. * WHAT...Major flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Cedar River at Charles City. * WHEN...From Thursday afternoon to Saturday afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 18.0 feet, Fourth Street at South Grand Avenue begins to flood. East Riverside Drive at Brantingham Streets are closed. Sandbag efforts begin along Gilbert Street. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:15 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 4.4 feet. - Bankfull stage is 9.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage early tomorrow afternoon to a crest of 18.0 feet early Friday morning. It will then fall below flood stage early Saturday morning. - Flood stage is 12.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
