The areas affected include... Coastal Waters from Boothville LA to Southwest Pass of the Mississippi River out 20 nm... Coastal Waters from Stake Island LA to Southwest Pass of the Mississippi River from 20 to 60 nm... Coastal waters from Pascagoula Mississippi to Stake Island Louisiana out 20 to 60 NM... At 748 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. This thunderstorm was located 38 nm east of Pilottown, moving northwest at 10 knots. Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher waves, and dangerous lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until this activity passes.
