
Anna Tkachenko, Spokesperson for the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Zaporizhzhia region, announced this in a comment to journalists, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"As of now, we know that the city was struck by three glide bombs. One of them failed to explode and remains in a residential area. Bomb disposal experts are working at the scene, while police are evacuating residents from nearby buildings," Tkachenko said.
According to her, two direct impacts have been confirmed. One glide bomb struck an administrative building, partially destroying it, and people may still be trapped under the rubble. Another bomb hit a private residential area, destroying several homes.
Tkachenko said a police officer was killed in the attack.
Bomb disposal specialists, explosives experts, police officers, emergency responders, and volunteers are working at the scene.
Firefighting efforts and search-and-rescue operations are ongoing.
Meanwhile, Head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration Ivan Fedorov said four people were under medical supervision, suffering from blast injuries and acute stress reactions.
"One man is in critical condition. Two others are in moderate condition. A six-year-old boy has been hospitalized with an acute stress reaction," Fedorov wrote on Telegram.
Fedorov also said that at least 15 private homes were destroyed or damaged in the airstrike.

"The number of people injured in the attack on Zaporizhzhia has increased to 16," the head of the regional military administration said.
As reported earlier, the Russian military attacked central Zaporizhzhia, injuring four people and damaging 15 residential buildings.
