* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Southwestern Burke County in western North Carolina... McDowell County in western North Carolina... Southeastern Mitchell County in western North Carolina... North Central Rutherford County in western North Carolina... Southeastern Yancey County in western North Carolina... * WHEN...Until 400 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. River or stream flows are elevated. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1253 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area.
