The Secretary-General is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of the former Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, who was a visionary and transformative leader for his nation and his people.

The Secretary-General extends his deepest condolences to the Emir, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, as well as the Government and people of the State of Qatar.
