According to Ukrinform, the figures were released by Germany's Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.
"Export licenses worth approximately EUR 2.5 billion were issued for Ukraine to support its military self-defense against Russia's war of aggression, which is illegal under international law. Ukraine therefore ranks first both among third countries [non-EU and non-NATO states] and among all recipient countries in terms of the total value of export licenses granted," the ministry said.
After Ukraine, the largest recipients of German arms export licenses were the United States with EUR 1.65 billion, the Netherlands with EUR 1.3 billion, the Czech Republic with EUR 1.24 billion, and Lithuania with EUR 1.21 billion.

Of that amount, about EUR 9.6 billion covered military weapons, while approximately EUR 4.3 billion related to other military equipment. Individual export licenses accounted for roughly EUR 12.8 billion, with a further EUR 1.1 billion authorized under general export licenses.
As reported, in March, the German government introduced temporary measures to simplify export procedures for certain categories of military equipment destined for Ukraine, particularly to strengthen the country's air and maritime defense capabilities.
