Russian forces attack port in Mykolaiv; two Ukrainians killed aboard foreign vessel

According to Ukrinform, the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported this on Facebook.

“A pre-trial investigation has been launched into the commission of war crimes resulting in the death of people (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine),” the statement reads.

According to the investigation, on the morning of July 17, 2026, Russian forces carried out an attack using Shahed-238-type combat drones against the port infrastructure of Mykolaiv.

As a result of the attack, three civilian vessels flying foreign flags, moored on the territory of the city’s port facilities, were damaged.

Two Ukrainian citizens who were on board a foreign vessel were killed as a result of one of the strikes.

Prosecutors, together with investigators and other law enforcement officials, are documenting the consequences of yet another war crime committed by the aggressor state.

As reported by Ukrinform, Kernel's sunflower oil transshipment terminal suffered damage of 25,000 metric tons of products due to an enemy strike.
