
According to Ukrinform, Artem Kobzar, the acting mayor of Sumy, reported this on Facebook.
He stated that “today at around 3:00 a.m., the enemy reportedly launched five guided airstrikes on the central part and outskirts of the city.”
As a result of the strikes, more than 100 windows were shattered in an apartment building. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties.
All relevant emergency services are on the scene. An assessment of the area and cleanup efforts following the enemy attack is underway.
Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces have attacked Sumy with nine guided aerial bombs.
“Sumy has once again come under a massive attack by Russian aircraft. The enemy launched nine strikes with guided aerial bombs on the city’s territory. Preliminary reports indicate two casualties,” said Hennadii Demianenko, deputy head of the Sumy City Military Administration.
According to Demianenko, the first four strikes, carried out yesterday evening, targeted the outskirts of Sumy. Later that night, Russian forces launched five more strikes, including some on the city center.
As a result of the attacks, strikes were recorded in residential areas and on civilian infrastructure in several districts of Sumy. Two strikes hit the central part of the city.

Ukrinform reported that on July 16, a Russian drone strike damaged an administrative building in downtown Sumy, and one person was injured.
