HLSMOB This product covers portions of southwest Alabama...northwest Florida...south central Alabama...and inland southeast Mississippi. **TROPICAL DEPRESSION 2 SLOWLY MEANDERING NORTH-NORTHWESTWARD** NEW INFORMATION --------------- * CHANGES TO WATCHES AND WARNINGS: - None * CURRENT WATCHES AND WARNINGS: - A Tropical Storm Watch is in effect for Escambia Coastal, Okaloosa Coastal, and Santa Rosa Coastal * STORM INFORMATION: - About 260 miles southeast of Mobile AL or about 210 miles southeast of Pensacola FL - 28.0N 85.1W - Storm Intensity 30 mph - Movement North-northwest or 335 degrees at 3 mph SITUATION OVERVIEW ------------------ Tropical Depression 2 will continue to slowly move to the west or west-northwest over the next several days. This system is forecast to remain offshore through mid week, before eventually moving west of the area. Potential impacts to the northern Gulf Coast include heavy rainfall in any outer bands that move ashore and wind gusts up to tropical storm force along the immediate coast. These impacts are expected to begin as early as Monday night and continue through Wednesday. A Tropical Storm Watch remains in effect for the coastal portions of northwest Florida.
