HLSMOB This product covers portions of southwest Alabama...northwest Florida...south central Alabama...and inland southeast Mississippi. **TROPICAL DEPRESSION TWO EXPECTED TO BECOME A TROPICAL STORM LATER TODAY** **TROPICAL STORM WATCH EXTENDED TO MISSISSIPPI/ALABAMA BORDER** NEW INFORMATION --------------- * CHANGES TO WATCHES AND WARNINGS: - A Tropical Storm Watch has been issued for Baldwin Central, Baldwin Coastal, Mobile Central, and Mobile Coastal * CURRENT WATCHES AND WARNINGS: - A Tropical Storm Watch is in effect for Baldwin Central, Baldwin Coastal, Escambia Coastal, Mobile Central, Mobile Coastal, Okaloosa Coastal, and Santa Rosa Coastal * STORM INFORMATION: - About 220 miles southeast of Mobile AL or about 180 miles southeast of Pensacola FL - 28.5N 85.4W - Storm Intensity 35 mph - Movement Northwest or 320 degrees at 3 mph SITUATION OVERVIEW ------------------ Tropical Depression Two, currently south of the Florida Big Bend, is forecast to strengthen into a tropical storm later today. It is forecast to move into the Alabama and northwest Florida Gulf waters Tuesday into Wednesday morning. This system is likely to remain offshore through mid week, eventually moving west of the area. Currently, impacts are likely to remain focused close to the immediate coast and offshore.
