HLSLIX This product covers Southeast Louisiana and South Mississippi **TROPICAL DEPRESSION TWO GETTING BETTER ORGANIZED - TROPICAL STORM AND STORM SURGE WATCHES ISSUED EAST OF THE MS RIVER TO MS/AL BORDER** NEW INFORMATION --------------- * CHANGES TO WATCHES AND WARNINGS: - A Storm Surge Watch and Tropical Storm Watch have been issued for Eastern Orleans, Lower Plaquemines, Lower St. Bernard, Southeast St. Tammany, Southern Hancock, Southern Harrison, and Southern Jackson * CURRENT WATCHES AND WARNINGS: - A Storm Surge Watch and Tropical Storm Watch are in effect for Eastern Orleans, Lower Plaquemines, Lower St. Bernard, Southeast St. Tammany, Southern Hancock, Southern Harrison, and Southern Jackson * STORM INFORMATION: - About 300 miles east-southeast of New Orleans LA or about 250 miles east-southeast of Gulfport MS - 28.5N 85.6W - Storm Intensity 35 mph - Movement Northwest or 310 degrees at 3 mph SITUATION OVERVIEW ------------------ Tropical Depression Two is currently south off the coast of the Florida Peninsula and will gradually strengthen as it moves northwest. Two is forecast to bring the threat of tropical storm force wind gusts, locally heavy rainfall south of I-10, and storm surge. The coastal areas of Mississippi and southeast Louisiana will have the greatest threat, especially south of I-10.
