HLSMOB This product covers portions of southwest Alabama...northwest Florida...south central Alabama...and inland southeast Mississippi. **TROPICAL DEPRESSION TWO GETTING BETTER ORGANIZED** NEW INFORMATION --------------- * CHANGES TO WATCHES AND WARNINGS: - A Storm Surge Watch has been issued for Baldwin Coastal and Mobile Coastal * CURRENT WATCHES AND WARNINGS: - A Storm Surge Watch and Tropical Storm Watch are in effect for Baldwin Coastal and Mobile Coastal - A Tropical Storm Watch is in effect for Baldwin Central, Escambia Coastal, Mobile Central, Okaloosa Coastal, and Santa Rosa Coastal * STORM INFORMATION: - About 210 miles southeast of Mobile AL or about 170 miles southeast of Pensacola FL - 28.5N 85.6W - Storm Intensity 35 mph - Movement Northwest or 310 degrees at 3 mph SITUATION OVERVIEW ------------------ Tropical Depression Two, located about 120 miles south of Panama City Florida, is expected to strengthen into a tropical storm later today. The system is forecast to move across the far offshore Alabama and western Florida panhandle coastal waters Tuesday into Tuesday night then continue west of the area on Wednesday. Impacts associated with this system are still likely to remain focused close to the immediate coast and offshore. A Storm Surge Watch is now in effect for the Alabama coast for storm surge heights of 2 to 4 feet during periods of high tide Wednesday and Thursday mornings.
