TEHRAN, Jul. 21 (MNA) – Iran's army said its ground forces attacked U.S. HIMARS missile systems at the Arifjan base in Kuwait on Tuesday, using ground-to-ground missiles in the 18th phase of "Operation Thunderbolt."
The Army's public relations office said the drone attack was in retaliation for "missile attacks by the Great Satan" on parts of Iran.
HIMARS is as a mobile missile system capable of rapid repositioning against ground targets, and said destroying them would damage the enemy's offensive and defensive layers and reduce its missile capacity for "aggressive crimes."
