A line of heavy showers and a few thunderstorms will impact portions of the New River and Roanoke Valleys east into the foothills of Virginia through 730am. Rainfall rates will reach 2 to 4 inches at times, leading to poor drainage flooding of ditches, low spots and urban areas. As you head out this morning be alert to water ponded on the roads.
