* WHAT...Nuisance to minor flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Southeastern Mecklenburg County in the piedmont of North Carolina... Northern Union NC County in the piedmont of North Carolina... * WHEN...Until 545 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Nuisance flooding of low-lying areas adjacent to streams and other poor-drainage areas, including farmland, parks, greenways, boat-access areas, golf courses, underpasses, and parking lots. Isolated, shallow flows over roadways is possible. A few flood-prone, low-water crossings may become impassible. A small culvert washout or two is possible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1150 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to training heavy rain showers, which have produced between 1 and 2 inches of rainfall over the past 45-60 minutes. Nuisance to minor flooding is expected to begin shortly in the Advisory area. Areas of greatest concern include flood-prone areas from Matthews to Indian Trail to Hemby Bridge, especially within the Crooked Creek and Goose Creek watersheds. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain may exacerbate flooding and may cause more significant flooding to develop. If storm-total rainfall amounts exceeds 3-4 inches over the next 1-2 hours, more significant flooding may develop and a Flash Flood Warning may be issued.
