On this festive occasion, I would also ask you to convey my warmest wishes to your colleagues and mentors – the veterans of the investigation service.
The traditions established within the investigative agencies more than three centuries ago, during the reforms of Peter the Great, have been reinforced at every historical stage in the development of Russian statehood.
Today, investigators of the Interior Ministry, the Federal Security Service and the Investigative Committee worthily continue the path of dedicated service to the Fatherland.
The success of your coordinated, dedicated efforts is critical to maintaining the rule of law and public order in the country and to the effectiveness of efforts to combat corruption, terrorism, extremism and other criminal threats.
Your accumulated experience, together with the latest technologies for gathering, recording, and analysing evidence, enables you to investigate the most complex criminal cases quickly and efficiently, to ensure the inevitability of punishment for offenders, and to take effective measures to redress the harm they have inflicted.
Let me particularly highlight the substantial contribution of investigators to the objectives of the special military operation. Working under challenging conditions and often at great personal risk, you expose neo-Nazis, saboteurs, and their accomplices.
I want to emphasise that at all times and in all spheres of duty, officers of investigative agencies must demonstrate fortitude and responsibility, resolutely oppose violence, self-interest, and lawlessness, and uphold the highest ideals of truth and justice.
I am confident that these principles, along with your impeccable dedication to duty, will remain the beacon in the work of Russian investigators.
