On Navy Day, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief heard reports presented by the commanders of Russia’s Pacific, Northern, Baltic and Black Sea fleets, as well as the Caspian Flotilla, covering the security landscape and their current missions.

First of all, I would like to extend my greetings to you and the entire personnel of the Russian Navy on Navy Day. Even though it is a professional holiday, it is still known and celebrated by our entire nation in a very vibrant and solemn way, showing great respect for sailors, veterans, and the rich and heroic history of Russia’s naval forces.
This immense public recognition is the result of many centuries of hard work, without exaggeration. The Fatherland’s loyal sons conquered the seas under their national flag, defended our frontiers, crushed enemies, and contributed tremendously to the development of science, industrial production, and cultural links between peoples and continents.
Today, we do not just commemorate the remarkable geographical discoveries, key battles and victories of our famed naval commanders; we also assess the current state of affairs in the navy and its prospects, as it is one of the crucial components for ensuring Russia’s security and maintaining global parity through the development of the naval component of our nuclear triad.
The Navy, including the Marine Corps, plays a crucial role in achieving the goals of the special military operation, while ship-borne weapons systems deliver smashing strikes on the enemy with high-precision weapons; the marines keep moving forward, fighting courageously, masterfully and fearlessly. Our entire country supports them and awaits their return home with victory. I want to extend my warmest greetings to the fighters and commanders currently operating in combat positions. Thank you, comrades, for your faithful service to the Motherland.

Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy Alexander Moiseyev: Comrade Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation!
According to the Navy construction and development plan, 20 ships, vessels and boats have been accepted into service in 2026. These include the Polyarny, a Project 12700 minesweeper for the Northern Fleet, and the Burya, a Project 22800 small missile ship for the Baltic Fleet. I should note that the latter was prepared in record time and has now been integrated into the defence system for key economic facilities in the Leningrad Region. Factory repairs to the strategic cruiser Karelia have also been completed. By the end of the year, we plan to accept a further 21 units into the Navy, including the first nuclear-powered submarine cruiser armed with the Zircon hypersonic system – the Perm, a Yasen-M‑class submarine. We also aim to complete the repair and modernisation of the nuclear cruiser Admiral Nakhimov and the attack submarine Leopard.
