Zelensky confirms strikes on three oil refineries in Bashkortostan and sanctioned Russian container ship

Zelensky expressed gratitude to Ukrainian defenders who are bringing the war back to Russia and responding to its strikes against life, and emphasized: "Our targets are consistently defined facilities that sustain the war effort."

According to Zelensky, middle-range strikes were carried out overnight, with hits in the Black Sea and Azov Sea areas. The sanctioned Russian container ship Yanina, sailing under the Russian flag and with a capacity of more than 100,000 tons, was also hit. Thanks to the precision of the Defense Forces, it sank.

"Also overnight, Security Service of Ukraine units struck the infrastructure of three Russian oil refineries in Bashkortostan. The targets were nearly 1,600 kilometers away. These refineries process millions of tons of oil each year. Thank you for your precision!" the President stressed.

As Zelensky noted, "We continue applying our just pressure. Our long-range sanctions plan is being implemented step by step."

As Ukrinform previously reported, drones attacked Russian regions overnight on August 1, and black smoke was reported above the Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim oil refinery in Ufa.
