18-year-old Ukrainian detained in Wroclaw on suspicion of stabbing Polish woman

That is according to Wroclaw police spokesperson Aleksandra Freus, Ukrinform reports, citing PAP.

The incident occurred at around 21:00 local time on Saturday on Gagarina Street in Wroclaw's Muchobor district.

"An 18-year-old man attacked a 30-year-old woman with a knife. She is in hospital in life-threatening condition," Freus said.

According to her, police detained the suspect immediately after the attack.

Police confirmed that the suspect is a Ukrainian citizen and the victim is a Polish citizen. Law enforcement officials have not disclosed further details of the case, including the possible motive for the attack.

According to local media reports, the attack took place in the entrance hall of an apartment building.

The investigation is ongoing. Police are establishing all the circumstances of the incident, as well as the motive behind the suspect's actions.

As reported, prosecutors in Wroclaw have asked a court to remand two suspects in custody for three months over the beating of a Ukrainian couple. Police are still searching for a third suspect.
