Vladimir Putin signed Federal Law On Amendments to the Code of the Russian Federation on Administrative Offenses.

The Federal Law introduces a comprehensive set of amendments aimed at improving the legal framework for the administrative expulsion of foreign nationals and stateless persons from the Russian Federation, as well as strengthening administrative liability for migration-related administrative offenses.

In particular, the law expands the list of administrative offenses that may result in administrative expulsion, increases the applicable administrative fines, and clarifies the procedures governing the imposition and enforcement of administrative expulsion as a form of administrative punishment.

The law also clarifies the respective powers of the courts, internal affairs bodies (the police), the border authorities, and other federal executive bodies in considering cases involving administrative offenses.

The federal law shall enter into force 90 days after its official publication.
