One year after President Donald J. Trump declared a crime emergency in the District of Columbia and unleashed the Make D.C. Safe and Beautiful Task Force, the results are undeniable.

The nation’s capital is no longer a Democrat-run nightmare of murder and lawlessness. Violent predators, gangbangers, drug traffickers, and sex offenders have been removed from the streets. Homeless encampments cleared. Parks reclaimed. Crime driven toward historic lows.

The Task Force — an unprecedented partnership of more than 20 federal and local agencies, backed by the National Guard — has delivered unrelenting enforcement:

  • Over 16,000 arrests
  • 35 homicide suspects locked up
  • More than 100 known gangbangers removed
  • Over 3,200 drug-related arrests
  • Nearly 2,000 illegal firearms seized
  • 25 missing children returned home

Under President Trump’s leadership, violent crime has been smashed to levels not seen in decades. Homicides have plunged. Carjackings, robberies, and overall crime have dropped sharply. What was once among America’s most dangerous cities is now on a clear path to become the safest and most beautiful capital in the world.

President Trump promised to dismantle the rampant crime crisis Democrats allowed to fester — and he kept that promise.

One year later, the record is clear: President Trump made D.C. safe again.
