The British Embassy and Crown Agents Bank brought together financial sector leaders from Guatemala and Honduras to discuss trade, investment and economic growth.

The British Embassy, together with Crown Agents Bank (CAB), hosted executive breakfast discussions with financial sector leaders from Guatemala and Honduras. The meetings, which included Neeraj Kapur, CEO of CAB, provided an opportunity to exchange views on trade, investment and the role of financial services in supporting economic growth.

Participants discussed opportunities to strengthen financial connectivity, improve links with global markets and support more inclusive economic growth in Guatemala and Honduras. A strong financial system plays an important role in facilitating trade and investment.

Trade between the UK and Guatemala reached USD 472.5 million in 2025, while trade between the UK and Honduras totalled USD 298.4 million. Participants agreed that stronger financial connections can help unlock new opportunities for businesses and investors.

Juliana Correa, British Ambassador to Guatemala and Honduras, said:

A strong and connected financial sector is fundamental to driving economic growth, facilitating international trade and creating new investment opportunities. This dialogue reflects the UK’s commitment to strengthening economic ties, fostering financial innovation and supporting more inclusive and sustainable development.
