Smoke rose over the port of Sochi in the Krasnodar Krai of the Russian Federation on Thursday following an attack by an unmanned boat.

According to Ukrinform, this is indicated by Astra’s OSINT analysis.

Astra’s analysis of eyewitness footage showed that two plumes of smoke were visible in the area of the Sochi seaport.

Local residents and monitoring channels reported an attack by unmanned boats.

According to satellite images from 2024, a military ship was moored in this part of the port.

Later, reports emerged that an unmanned boat had reached the coast of Sochi and exploded in the port.

Meanwhile, Andrei Vorobyov, governor of the Moscow Region, stated that in the village of Velikoye Bunkovo in the Bogorodsky District in the east, a drone entered the grounds of a factory, causing a fire; however, he did not specify the name of the facility, according to the BBC’s Russian Service.

According to publicly available data, this village is home to a glassware factory and a ceramics manufacturer. There are also several military training grounds in the area.

As reported by Ukrinform, Moscow’s Vnukovo and Sheremetyevo airports suspended operations for the second night in a row—from September 2 to September 3—following warnings from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky about the danger Russian airspace poses to civil aviation.
